Problem Description:

Old Town Senses is a landmark for the Old Town of Rhodes, as the hotel has a modern look but with a traditional flair. They contacted us regarding the creation of a new website for their accommodation facilities. The problem in this case was related to bookings, which were only coming from the major booking platforms and this resulted in a large percentage of the profits being lost due to the commissions set by these platforms. At the same time, the objective was to ensure the best possible presentation of the hotel’s potential, due to its unique style (boutique) and the authenticity that governs it, combined with its unique location (Old Town of Rhodes).

Solution

After a thorough analysis of the competition and the market, we came to the conclusion that the best and most special elements of the hotel should be showcased. Due to its Boutique Hotel style, the design needed to stay within the framework of high aesthetics combined with luxury, which had to play a primary role, but without losing the simplicity and ease of access for the user.

Strategy

The website we created is based on the colour shades of the logo. We created the homepage in such a way that the user understands the style of the accommodation and can quickly navigate to the subpages of the website. In addition, we linked the website to an independent booking system so that the user has the opportunity to book their accommodation directly from the website, without having to resort to third party booking platforms.

We used specific phrases/keywords to set the hotel apart from the competition, resulting in it taking the top position in the results of the pages visited by travelers who are of greater interest to the company.

Result

Over the course of a year, we managed to rank the hotel on the first page of search results. We also increased direct bookings by 20% and generated repeat customers who booked their stay directly from the property at the end of the season, thus achieving an increase in autonomy and profits for the business.
